Cafe Ubani is a wonderful Georgian restaurant in the south end of Greenwich Village. Ubani means "neighborhood" in Georgian and Cafe Ubani is aptly named -- a relaxing neighborhood cafe. You feel at home when you enter because the staff is warm and welcoming and the seating area is the full floor of a cute little on-street cafe on Bedford St. The restaurant is run by two Georgians who have spent time in the USA, so they blend traditional with American.
Very nice place and excellent food! This is my first time trying Georgian food and they certainly didn’t disappoint me! The owners/servers were super nice and asked if I need any recommendations. I said yes and said I am not too hungry and just wanted something light. They recommended the cauliflower which is very tasty and light.
We had an amazing brunch at Cafe Ubani on a moderately warmer day in February. We made reservations via Google and got promptly seated at 12:45pm. We asked for what was popular on the menu and were given excellent advice on that. Service was top notch and food was super delicious. This was randomly spotted by a family member or else we would not have known about this.
